·         Indian radio reports people torching few shops and houses after staging demonstration against the blasting of an Indian aircraft hijacked from Lahore. 16-hour curfew enforced in Ahmedabad.

·         Professor Muzaffar Ahmed, chief of East Pakistan National Awami Party, and its General Secetary Syed Altaf Hussain in a newspaper statement urge the president to call for immediate National Assembly session. A vested and extreme communal force is trying to create tension over the aircraft hijack incident to delay the National Assembly session and transfer of power to the representatives of people.
