- Two Kashmiri youths blow off the hijacked Indian Fokker Friendship aircraft with explosives and later surrender to police. Pakistan apologises to India for the incident.
- Elected MNAs of Pakistan People’s Party from Lahore and Rawalpindi in a meeting decide to give maximum support to the just demands of the people of East Pakistan included in the 6-point demand by Awami League in the structure of national unity in accordance with People’s Party’s declaration. Apart from some members of central committee, few MNAs from Lahore, Shahiwal and Multan also attend the 7-hour long meeting.
- After a 2-hour long meeting with Awami League chief Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhaka, Sardar Shawkat Hayat Khan, chief of Punjab Council Muslim league at a press briefing, says his party will avoid any regional treaty in constitutional matter for the sake of national solidarity, unity and norms. He says Punjab will benefit more from the 6-point demand. He adds he will give all-out support to Awami League to compose the governance policy.
- Awami League’s 6-point demand is an obstruction to formulate the governance policy and it would divide the country, says a spokesman of Pakistan People’s Party after a party meeting with newly elected members of National and Provincial Assemblies presided by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto at the residence of Mia Arif Iftikhar in Lahore.
