- Pakistan Muslim League (Qayuum faction) decides not to join the National Assembly Session on March 3 for what they say Awami League’s rigidness on 6-point issue. After a 90-minute long meeting, Abdul Qayuum Khan tells journalists that it is pointless to join the national assembly session for his party MNAs without Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s assurance that the remarks of other federal units would be heard and accepted.
- A hand note of Pakistan government’s cabinet secretariat says President Yahya Khan has abolished his cabinet effective from this morning. The hand note also says president has taken the decision considering country’s political condition. The president had formed a seven-member cabinet on August 4, 1965.
- President Yahya Khan presides an exclusive conference with governors and martial administers of all provinces. Deputy Chief Marital Administrator Gen Abdul Hamid Khan and Lt Gen SGM Pirzada, chief staff officer to the president, also attend the conference. PPI reports, although discussion topic of the conference could not be known, it was presumed that the agenda was present political situation of the country.
