- Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto rules out any possibility of treaty or pact to have an agreement between Awami League and Peoples Party on the issue of governance policy during a speech in a party meeting at a local party office in Karachi. He says, “The country has only three powers now – Awami League, People’s Party and the armed forces. We don’t recognise any fourth power.”
He also says, “Some disappointed groups are saying that Bhutto will give priority to a particular region’s interest.”
“There is nothing more dearer than Pakistan to me”, Bhutto says.
“First of all I will say ‘Joy Pakistan’, after that I can say for ten times Joy Bangla, Joy Sindh, Joy Panjub, Joy Balochistan, Joy Simanta.
Reiterating his decision, he says, his party’s decision not to join National Assembly session is irreversible.
“When we accepted Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as our elder brother, he should listen to what his younger brothers have to say”.
