- Central secretaries of East Pakistan Students’ Front, in a statement, condemn Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s decision to boycott the National Assembly session. By Bhutto’s attitude and anti-democratic speeches, it is established that anti-democracy conspiracy by national and international reactionary forces is still on, they say.
Cautioning the conspirators, secretaries say, “We want anti-democracy national and international reactionary forces to know, if all conspiracies to impede the formulation of governance policy in a democratic process and power handover to people’s representatives are not stopped immediately, agitating students of East Bengal will not remain silent. We are calling students and masses to be prepared for united agitation to tackle the conspiracy.” - Central Industry Minister AKM Hafizuddin meets Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his residence.
- During paying tribute to the great martyrs of 52, Bangabandhu says Language Movement of 19 years ago was not only limited to the acknowledgement of Bangla, it was also a struggle to realise people’s right. People must vow so that martyrs’ sacrifice does not go in vain. He emphasises on enhancing the significance of Language movement in our cultural and other sectors. He says Bangalis will not be repressed anymore; this is the lesson of language movement. Dhaka City Awami League orgnaised the commemorating event.
