3 killed in Gaibandha culvert collapse

At least three people were killed and five injured as an abandoned culvert collapsed on them at Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha this evening.

The deceased were identified as Abdus Sattar, 57, Kakoli Khatun, 17, and Abdul Kuddus, 35, of the area, reports Gaibandha correspondent.

The accident took place around 5:30pm when they were collecting bricks of the culvert, said Farhad Imrul Kayas, officer-in-charge of Sadullapur Police Station.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Sadullapur Upazila Health Complex.
