Newborn baby girl’s body found inside carton in Dhaka

Body of a newborn baby girl was found inside an abandoned carton near a kitchen market in Shah Ali area of Dhaka's Mirpur this afternoon.

On information, police recovered the body of the one-day-old child around 12:30 pm and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue, police said.

The carton might have been left abandoned there by someone, Sub-Inspector Zahangir Alam of Shah Ali Police Station, told The Daily Star.
