Noted artistes Kiron Chandra Roy, Chandana Majumder, Close-Up star Nolok Babu and Abdul Quddus Bayati held audience attention with their lively performances at Gafargoan upazila parishad premises in Mymensingh Monday night.

Bangladesh Betar organised the cultural show themed “Krishir Unnoyane Bangladesh Betar”, the first of its kind in Gafargoan.

The folk songs related to the everyday life of rural people and their agricultural skills amused the people the most.

Village folk in their hundreds from nearby villages thronged the venue.

Earlier, Salahuddin Ahmed, deputy director general of Bangladesh Betar inaugurated the six hour long show as chief guest.

The speakers said that music is an easy and sustainable medium to transmit important messages to farmers, mostly semi-literate or unlettered.

Praising Bangladesh Betar's initiative, they also said that the cultural show would have a deep impact as agriculture and music have blended with each other for centuries,
